Bryn Parry Sculpture

Bryn dropped out of art at school as he was told that it was no way to make a living. He joined the army and enjoyed cartooning whenever he was bored. After ten years of military doodling, he decided to throw away his career and become a cartoonist and picture framer.

Returning from teaching jungle warfare in sunny Australia to chilly penury in England; Bryn and Emma set up Bryn Parry Studios. Over the next few years they built up the business, caricatured thousands of the great and good, developed a range of countryside gift products, picture framed, ran a shop and published eleven books. Somehow they found the time to bring up three children and several dogs.

In 2007, they decided to ‘do something to help’ those wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan and founded Help for Heroes. In 2016, after nearly ten years of being the Chief Executive, Bryn decided to return to his studio.

Bryn took up sculpture in 2017 and loves it. He won the Armed Forces Art Society sculpture prize in Glasgow in 2017 and has undertaken a number of sculpture portraits as well as producing a series of surreal limited edition bronzes.

Bryn is happy to discuss commissions for sculpture, caricatures, design and illustration. He lives and works in Downton, (without the Abbey), south of Salisbury.
